A word from our Missions Pastor...

Reaching out beyond the walls of our church opens doors to life’s greatest adventures.

In Luke 9:1-6, Jesus called his disciples together and gave them authority and power to show His love in miraculous ways. He then commissioned them to go, to proclaim the kingdom of God and heal the sick. His final instruction before he sent them out was to keep it simple. Basically he was saying don’t over prepare and if you are rejected leave that town and move on to the next.

As Jesus anointed his disciples to prepare them for their great adventure, we will be asking God to do the same with you! Join us. Take that step by joining one of our teams on mission. Reaching out on our web pages you will find many opportunities. If you join us, your life will never be the same.

Testimonies

The Holy Spirit started me on a journey that continues to unfold…
From my mission trip to Peru I became suspicious, as a therapist, that the behavior of children was very abnormal. Upon my return to the states, I immediately researched to discover that the area we were in is well known as a tourist attraction for sexual exploitation of children. In brokenness, God has allowed our church to engage in Peru, India and even in Houston to work against the plight of human trafficking and sex trade. Soul Loved Ministry was born… Ginger H.

It was worth the risk…
I felt called to go on a mission trip to India. While quietly sharing the gospel with an individual in India, two police officers entered the room. I immediately became afraid fearing they would shut us down and throw us out of the country. The next thing I knew they were seated in front of me. I began to share the Gospel and when I asked them if they would like to follow Jesus, they said yes! That was great news. As a Humble police officer I now have two fellow officers in India who know Jesus. Ben M.

Mission Objectives

Purpose: Make God Known – Our highest calling is to make God known. Our bold, yet humble witness is to share Christ with others under the leading of the Holy Spirit. Our testimony to share Christ is our expression of our faith, hope, and love in Him. The result of our obedience will be the salvation of others.

Mandate: To Make Disciples – A disciple understands that the truth of God’s Word moves us to a new place. We discover that following God’s ways are much better than our own, and it sets us free. Therefore, when we receive a mandate from God, we, like a good soldier, follow His order, which is to make disciples.

Objective 1: Exalt God – The more people that know Him, the more worshippers there are to exalt Him. For this reason, our first missional objective is to exalt God as we make Him known to the nations.

Objective 2: Empower through Prayer – Clearly the Bible tells us in John 15 that Jesus is the vine and we are the branches; apart from Him we can do nothing. Our second objective, empower through prayer, recognizes that our only source for life-change, disciple-making or church planting is the work of the Holy Spirit. We call for His presence and leading to make us aware of His plans, purpose and power. The primary action of our mission is prayer.

Objective 3: Embrace the Great Commission – It is imperative that we grow as disciples in knowledge and action by embracing the Great Commission and its mandate to be obedient. Paul said, “Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ.” (1 Cor. 11:1). Knowledge and action-based disciple-making is reinforced by mentoring and practical experience. The intention is to build a missional heart and mindset in our growing disciples.  Over time this will create a missional culture in our church.

Objective 4: Engage the Great Commission – Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8) is the biblical roadmap we travel when the Holy Spirit comes upon us. Engaging in the Great Commission means that we “go” to the ends of the earth through our neighborhood, community, state, nation and globally. This happens under the Holy Spirit’s leadership with His power. Our response to His mandate to “go” builds the fire to our faith, the growth to the Kingdom, and an awesome relationship with our Savior.

Objective 5: Enable member to serve the Great Commission full-time – As a church, we are to enable members to serve the Great Commission full-time. We are to bless them through prayer and resources that will allow them to “go,” prepare and serve.  It isn’t easy to make disciples.  In fact, it can be very frustrating. A true disciple is one who understands the cost and is still willing to “go.” Our disciple-making example is Jesus. He took the most unlikely candidates and with great patience saw them develop into real-life disciples. Through the power of the Holy Spirit His disciples would change the course of the world one life at a time. We desire to do the same.

Objective 6: Extend financial support – Most disciples discover that giving becomes a natural expression of our love to Jesus. Extending financial support is a very personal expression of our faith, love, trust and obedience. A tithe or offering to the church goes to missional causes which builds a pavement on our road to share Jesus around the world.
